Listen again and see if you can work out the answers to these questions about the interview:


  • How old were the Games volunteers? All ages.
  • During the Games, the volunteers had a special title. What was this special title? Games maker.

Working in pairs, discuss and write how these rights relate to the different levels of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs?
·        Human Rights article # 3 relates to Maslow’s second level because it’s about safety and health insurance.

·        Human Rights article # 16 relates to Maslow’s third law because it concerns about family, love and belonging.

·        Human Rights article # 1 relates to Maslow’s fourth rule because it’s about equality and respect from others.


·        Human Rights article # 22 relates to Maslow’s second and fifth rule because it’s about the safety of a person and opportunities to develop their skills

Human Needs Activity 2:

Working in groups, discuss and answer the following questions:

1.     Does every human being have the right to reach the top of the Maslow pyramid?

Yes, they have the right.


2.     Does every human being have the capability of reaching that level?

Yes, they do if they work hard for it.

3.     What are the opportunities are needed to get to the higher level?

The opportunities needed to reach a higher level are support from your family member and self esteem.

4.     What are the obstacles could stand in the way of reaching these levels?

There are few obstacles, such as abnormality or lack of resources and a low self esteem.


5.     What could you do to help others to reach the higher levels?


We should help them with things they lack for and boost their self esteem and confidence.
